(PRRSS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.) WELLINGTON. February 18. The Metropolitan Racing Clnb having paa-ed the Masterton-Opaki programme tor March 17th conditionally that the toUliMtor
was not used, a deputation from the County Club waited on the Premier, who prdn ised to issue a license for the machine. The position is that, under the regulations of tbe Gaming Act the Metropolitan Racing Club allotted Masterton one meeting, and it raced on Boxing Day, therefore under the rule? of racing all parties taking part in the St. Patrick's Day Meeting become disqualified if the totalisator is used.
The Otaki Club, which is allowed two meetings, were refused a liceose for the totalisator for the second meetiug. and a deputation is in town interviewing the Premier on the matter. No definite decision has been given, but the Premier suggested that if one meeting in South Wairarap* Mas withdrawn Otaki would be granted a license.
