DUNEDIN JOCKEY CLUB'S AUTUMN MEETING.
(B7 TELEGRAPH.) (TROM OUR SPECIAL CORRESPONDENT.) DUNEDIN, February 18. The weather promises to be perfect for che races to-morrow. The town is full of visitors from all parts. The Jockey Club have notified all bookmakers that they will not on any account be allowed on any part of the racecourse, which resolution has canted considerable wailing from the penoillers. The interest of the meeting is very much lessened on account of the small field to go out for the Cup, for which Dunedinites almost to a man pin their faith to Gipsy Grand. leannot bring myself to believe that he can give thne years and a couple of pound* lo a horse like Saracen has proved himself to be. The other races are very open. Liberator has plenty of friends for the Hnrdle Race, bat I think one, if not more, of the light weights will be able to beat him. Hippomenes has been doing mostly long work in company with Gipsy Grand, otherwise be alone would receive my vote for the Publicans' Handicap. My selections are as follows :—Hurdles—Brm or Ulster; Champagne—Bombshell ; Cup—Sara-en ; Selling Race—Stockfish or Bizarre; Publican*'— Hippomenes or Warrington; Maiden— Medicus or Canno-uhot; Selling Two-year-old Race—Caritas; Stewards' Welter—Jane Gyre or Ambush.
