CHRISTCHURCH. Tuesday, January 28. (Before A. Ayere aud J. 0. Atkinson, Eiqs., J.P.'a.) Deiinkennkss.— A young woman who was charged with drunkenness for the first time was discharged, the Salvation Army agreeing to take obarge of her. Alleged Assault. —Charles Mumford was charged on remand with having on Jauuary 24fch. at Marshlands, assaulted Charlea Hendrioksen. Mr Stringer appeared for the complainant, and Mr Kippenberger for the accused. Aβ the complainant was still unable to appear, a further remand for a week was granted. (Before R. Beetham, Esq., S.M.) Civil Cases.—Judgment went fur plaintiff by default with costs in Allen v Reddiogton, £9 10a; McClatchie and Co. v Brown, £7 12* 9d : and Sansom and Dobson v Cathro, £10. Warner v Russell, claim £25 4a on judgment eummona ; Mr Caeaidy for the creditor, Mr Kippenberger for the debtor, who did not appear, and was ordered to pay within one month or, in default, twelve weeks , imprisonment. McGeorge v Walker was adjourned till January 30th J Hammond v Sutton till February 4ih.
