THE CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNAMENT*

WELLINGTON, December 28. The Lawn Tennis Tournament was continued and finished to-day. The weather was perfect, and the courts were very hard. There was a large attendance of the publics during the afternoon. Miss Nunneley had no difficulty whatever in annexing the Ladies' Championship, and, with Misa Trimnell, had an easy win in the Ladies' Double Championship. Collins and Harman, after Borne close &ets in the final of 'the Men's Double Championehip, beat Gore brothers by superior volleying. Parker beat Hooper in the Men's Single Championship ; playing Hooper's own game of lobbing, and adding to it fine drives and smashes, the Wellington man played brilliantly throughout. These two players met in the finil of the Championship of last year at Christchurch, where the Auckland man was victorious. The prizes were presented at the close of the day's play by the wife of the President of the Association. The following are the results of the day'a play : — Combined Doubles Handicap, beat of threo seta; semi-final round—-Mice Nun* ueley and Parker, owe 30, boat Mies Heywood and P. Marshall, owe 15£, 6—l, 6—lf Misa Greenfield aod Goldie, rec. 154, beat Misa Marchant and Garsia, rec 15£, 6—5, 5 —6, 6—l. The final round was won by Miss Greenfield and Goldie, 6 —3, 6 —6. Men's Doubles Handicap, best of three set* ; final round—Parker, Thorndou Club, and Hooper, Auckland, owe 30, beat Seager and tityche, Christchurcb, rec. 15, 6—3, 6—2. Ladies' Doubles Handicap, best of three sets; final round—Mrs Davy, Auckland, and Greenfield, Tβ Aro Club, reo. 15£, beat Misses Nunneley and Kennedy, Thomdon Club, owe 30, 6—2, 6—2. Ladies' Singles Handicap, best of three sets; final round—Miss Kennedy, Wellington, beat Miss Lean, Christchurch, 6—l. Men's Doubles Championship, best af five sete ; final round— J. U. Collins tsind R. D. Harman, Cbristchurch, beat H. Gore and R. Gore, Wellington, 5—6, 6—3, 6—2, 6—2.
