MARRIAGE OF COLONEL FOX.

(PRESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.) NAI'IER, February 6. A fashionable marriago was celebrated at St. Matthew's Church, Hastings, this afternoon, when Colonel Fox, commandant of the New Zealand forces, was united to Miss C. Russell, second daughter of Captain Russell, M.H.K. The church was appropriately decorated for the occasion. The ceremony was witnessed by a large number of spectators. The wedding gifts were costly and numerous, including one from H.R.H. the Duke of York. HASTINGS, February 6. The csremony was performed by Canon St. Hill, assisted by the Rev. J. Hobbs. There was beautiful weather. Among those present were Colonel Pearce and a large number of visitors fromall parts of tbe colony. After the ceremony was over a number of guests went to Flaxmere. A baud played on the lawn and there were great festivities, triumphal arches, &c. Half the Hastings people turned out in large numbers. The employees of Captain Russell gave beautiful presents and pulled the horses from the carriage at the enclosure entrance. Oyer 300 presents were received, among which was old silver salt cellars from H.R.H. the Duke of York. The ceremony was one of the most notable ever, held in Hawke's Bay. The bride and bridegroom afterwards left tor Waipawa, en route for Wellington.
