. WELLINGTON, February 4» . {The. Braid delegates met this morning to fcpen the DUtrict Grand Lodge which ia to .take charge of the North Island, AJarlborough, Kelson end Weatland. Bro. Ryan, Grand President, and Bro. Brennaa, Grand Secretary/ came from Melbourne to take cart fn the proceedings. Bro. Ryan took the ohalr, and explained the object of the meeting ; the Visit Charter was read and the Lodge declared duly open. (The election of officers took place as follows: «-Grand District President, Bro. J. Maokay, Wellington; Vice-Preeident, Bro. A'Deane, Gisbbrne; Secretary, Bto. J. Purnell, Wan* ganui* Treasurer, Bro. C. Sykee, Wanganui; Guardian, Bro. Aston, Blenheim; Auditors, Bros. G. Snadden, R. Fletcher (Wellington) and O. W. Poynter (Wanganui); Trustees, Bros.. E. H. Waddington Masterton), R. Armstrong (Carterton), and J » A. McKenna (Fate*), The various officers-elect' were then presented | by Bro. Tomson, District Grand President of Canterbury, after which the Grand President declared, them duly installed for the next twelve months. Delegates from the Grand Lodge in Australia congratulated the District Grand Lodge on its formation. Various votes were passed, and it was decided to register the Districts Grand Lodge at the Druids , Hal), Wanganoi, and the first meeting of the Lodge was fixed for Wauganui on July 30th.
