WEST EYRETON.

The monthly meeting was held on January 14th. Present—Mr Addinell (Chairman) and Messrs Con way and HorrelL v The out' ward correspondence and Surveyor's report were approved.. Letters were read—From the Caet Road Board, stating that Board do not acknowledge any liability in connection with the drain through the Murphy Estate at Bennett's Junction, and that the Cust Board have already agreed to pay half the coat of a ford in place of the bridge on the Downs road at Hunter's, and that the Cust Board are still of the opinion that a ford with a footbridge is all that is required. Consideration deterred until jaeXt meeting. From Mr Percy~Johnston, stating thatrhe had nearly finished clearing the gorSe on the Eyre and Cust road, and requesting the remainder might stand over until after harvest; also requesting the Board to clear the other side of the road fronting his wire fence. Agreed to. Mr Horreli proposed and Mr Conway seconded— *'That a general rate of in the £ be made and levied on rateable- property iv the West Eyreton Road Board District for the period commencing April let, 1894, and ending March 31st, 1895; such rate to be due and payable in one sum at the Board's office, West Eyreton, between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. on March 11th, 1895." Carxied; Mr Horreli prog>sed\and Mr Conwayjaeconded—" That Mr obb. Marshall Wright be appointed valuer! for the West Eyreton Road Board District in accordance with the Rating Act, 1891, in terms to be arranged for each triennial valuation." The appointment of valuer was then signed and sealed by the Chairman by order of the Board. 'It was resolved— "That the registration fee for sheep and cattle-dogs, in accordance witb the Dog Registration Act, 1890, be 2a 6d and all other dogs lOa." ■ The Clerk ,was directed to obtain the collars required. Accounts amounting to £34 12* 6d were passed. - It was resolved—"That the Press be the offioial paper for 1895."
