CUST.
The usual monthly meeting was held on January 14th. Present —Mr Dickinson (Chairman), and Messrs Catherwood, Galletly, aud Thompson. A deputation, consisting of Messrs Meredith, Reddenklau, Anderson, Jack, O'Loughlin, and Kennedy, ,waited on the Board in reference to the bridge on the East Boundary road across the Cast river, protesting against the said bridge being taken up. The Board assured the deputation that they had uo intention of taking .up the bridge. The Board decided to write to the Mandeville and Rangiora Road Board informing them that a deputation of ratepayers of the two districts had waited on this Board requesting that the bridge should be repaired. This Board are unanimously of opinion that it is necessary to have the bridge made good for ordinary traffic, A letter was received from Mr Meredith, in reference to obtaining an acre of land for a gravel reserve. It was decided to send a copy of Mr Meredith's letter to the Mandeville and Rangiora Road Board, and ask that Board if they will agree to the terms stated. It was resolved to advertise that the bridges in the district are unsafe for traction engine traffic , Tenders were received for various works, and the lowest in each . case was accepted. After passing accounts to the amount- of £30 3s 6d the Board adjourned.
