Mr Harman said that as the English team was not going to visit New Zealand and probably the Queensland learaiwould not come there was no immediate mirry to hold the conference, so lie to the various Associations asking them if they agreed to the alterations. The Wellington Association, whose team would be in Christchurch on the original date fixed, objected to a change beiug made. Mr A. M. Ollivier suggested that the Wellington delegates she aid be asked to meet the Canterbury delegates and to hear their views on the proposed Nsw Zealand Council, and to hold auothec meeting later on. He then moved—"That the date of the Conference be postponed until December 27th." The matter of eutertaining thevisitora was left to the Secretary. k The Secretary reported that Mr Coleman Davis, oi Sydney, • had offered two trophies, and he suggested that one -should be given for top bitting average in Senior Cap matches, and the other for the best bowling average. Mesßr3 : Bcuce and Bean, the New Zealand agents for VVisden aud Co., of London, offered one-of their bats with Crawford's patent handles for the highest scorer in the Wellington-Canterbury match. The of&r was accepted with thanks. Messrs Goates and Co. offered a trophy to the Association, to be awarded as they thought fit. This offer was also accepted, and it was decided to award it to the player gaining the best batting average of not less than six innings iv the Junior * Jup. Messrs Harcaan and Smith were appointed an Advertising Committee.

The Veterans' Cricket Club played the Christ's College secoud eleven yesterday in Hagley Park, and the former won in one innings by 164 to 69. For the Veterans Blake scored 101 and then retired, Homer 18 and Goring 15. The Goßege second eleven made 34 in their first innings (Louisson 10), aud 55 in their.eeeond iuuinga (Louisson 11).
