ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.

A ten-year-old son of Mr Bransby White, of Swannanoa, who was biid nesting at Springbank on Tuesday morning, fell from a tall gum tree and broke his left arm. . The j limb was set by Dr. Volckman, of Rangiora. ! On Tuesday afternoon Mr Herbert Soanes was riding an ordinary high-wheeled bicycle along Crescent road, St. Albans. The tyre, which was much worn, suddenly broke, and becoming, entangled with the handles, Soanes was thrown heavily on to the road. Upon being picked up, it was found that both elbows had been dislocated and the small bone of one arm broken. Dra. J. H. and George Deamer were at once called in, and they set the injured limbs. Soanes was then conveyed to his father's residence, and is now progressing favorably. On Tuesday afternoon Mr Wm. Rice took ah epileptic fit after bathing in the Syden- I ham borough baths. He was conveyed to j his home almost, immediately and Dr. j Anderson called in. About a quarter to nine o'clock Rice .became worse and Dr. Irving was sent for. The latter did all in his power for Rice, but the latter died between eleven and twelve o'clock last night. Dr Irving will give a certificate as to the < cause of death. An inquest will therefore not be necessary. Deceased, who was a t grocer out of employment, was about thirty-five years of age, and leaves a wife and four children. Mrs Rice wishes to thank Mr McLean, the driver of Truth express, for his kindness in conveying her husband from the baths.
