The ordinary monthly meeting of this Bwxd was held on May 2nd.. Present—Sir John Hall (Chairmuu), Messrs Parker "Westerna and James Brown. The following correspondence was read:—From Mrs Stapieton and Mr W. Devereux, asking the Board to have the ditch filled up on the south side of Dunsandel road fronting their properties. It was decided that hs, this ditch is not required for drainage purposes it shall be filled up from Devereux's shop to the Library road. From Messrs P. Doyle and J. Grigg, complaining of water flowing down the road leading to their properties. Referred to the Surveyor to inspect. From MrG. Baker, complaining of the high crown on the Downs road opposite his gate, and requesting the Board to have crown lowered or the side of the formation filled up, so as to give proper access from his land. It was decidgd that the Chairman and the Sur▼eyor should inspect the road, and take such f teps to improve it at the place complained of las may seem to them advisable. From the Selwyn County Council, having reference to Mr Rollitt's offer to purchase for removal one of the vacant cottages on Reserve 1818, stating that they do not wish to cell either ot these cottages. Tenders for works recently advertised were accepted as follows:—Formation on Mitchell's road, Bargees Brothers, at 6s 5d per chain; tussocking on Two Chain road, James Morgan (lump sum), £11 7s 2d; tussocking on Cemetery road, J. Hannant, at ll£d per chain; cartage of shingle, &c., for concrete culverts on Downs road, W. Oliver, shingle 3a per yard, cement Is per cask. No tenuer was received for the supply of K. B. S. cement. It was resolved that tenders be called for breaking the stone now being carted on Steveuton road aud for breaking about 100 cubic yards of metal in the Bluff road pits ; that tenders be called for forming and* shingling Dunsandel and Bankside road from the South road level crossing to Bankside station, about one and a half mikd. The manager of the Hororata water-races attended with his report, which was read and considered. With reference to the proposed new water-race for the supply of the north-western portion of the Hororata district, the Chairman reported the result of the meeting of occupiers of land north of the Hororata through -which this race would ran. It appeared they had unanimously agreed to the race being carried through their sections. The subject was discussed, and farther consideration postponed until a detailed survey and plans were ready. The annual statement of accounts of the waterrace district as approximately given in the manager's report was considered very satisfactory. The passing of accounts on the monthly pay-sheet, amounting to £117, and the transaction of other routine business terminated the meeting. ~
