ST. MARY'S, GERALDINE.
The annual general meeting of the parishiohers of the above church was held on Tuesday afternoon, the Rev. J. Preston, Incumbent, presiding. The Chairman's annual report showed that the church work was progressing. The Sunday School was in a flourishing condition, with a balance to credit after the year's working of £4 7s 2d. The Benevolent Aid Fund had a credit balance of £214s id. Mr EL W. Moore presented the Churchwardens' report and balance-sheet. The former showed that the financial position had improved during Che year, there being a balance to credit of about £5 10s, notwithstanding the heavy expenses incurred in repairing the parsonage. There was a slight decrease in the attendance, but the offertories had improved. It was decided to declare, the seats free and remove the tickets therefrom. In reply to a question Mr Moore said that the debt now existing on the church amounted to about £200, which sun., thanks to the shares taken up in the Permanent Investment and Loan Agency, would be paid about the middle of 1895 and the property would be free. The financial position of the church was considered satisfactory and the report and balance sheet were adopted. The following officers for the year were elected:—lncumbent's Churchwarden, Dr A- Fish; People's Churchwarden, Mr H. W.Moore; Vestrymen, W. Shiers, W. Hawke, H. Wilson Smith, A. E. Hawkings, P. B. Bartrum, A. White, G. H. Patrick, Major Moore, J. Kellard, and J. Pizzey. MrW.E. Barker was appointed Stipend Treasurer, and Mr H. B. Webster, Auditor. A number of votes of thanks having been passed to the church officers and others the meeting terminated.
