TE NGWAI, PLEASANT POINT.
The annual meeting of parishioners wa 8 held on the 16th in it. The Incumbent, the Rev. T. Jasper Smyth, M.A., read his annual report from which it appeared there were eleven baptisms, three funerals, and two weddings during the year. Several church families had left the parish whose places had not been —lied.- In addition to Che service at the parish church monthly services were held at ALbury, Sutherlands, and Mount Gay. A new coloured window for the chancel was ordered, and it was expected to be finished in a fortnight. The Churchwardens presented their report and balance-sheet, which showed a credit of £28 to the general expenses, being proceeds of bazaar and gift auction. Oat of this balance the next Vestry were Co pay for painting aud repairs to church and parsonage. The Stipend Fund showed a deficiency of £13 os 2d. The Incumbent re-appointed Colonel Eichbaum as his Warden; and Mr Robert Kerslake was unanimously elected People's Warden. The following were elected on the Vestry: —Messrs W. B. Howell, Ed. Acton. Wm. Halstead, J. Oi Siver, Fred. Medlicot, Alfred Rayner, Charles Blackier, and' G. Buttance. Votes of thanks were passed to the lady organist and Sunday school teachers. It was also resolved that as this is the first parish meeting since the resignation of the Bishop a suitable letter be written to him acknowledging his East services, and that it be signed on .half of the parishioners by the-Incum-bent, the Synodsmen, and Churchwardens.
