KAIAPOI CHURCH OF ENGLAND.

The harvest thanksgiving services were held in the Church of England at Kaiapoi and the Chapel of Ease, Clarkville, Kaiapoi Island, on Sunday last. At all the services, which were conducted by Bey. E. A. Phillips, there were large attendances. The decorations were very beautiful, arranged with good taste, and producing charming effects, particularly in the interior of the Kaiapoi Church -when .viewed 'under the lamp light during .the evening ser.vice. The popular . harvest thanksgiving hymns were sung with extreme heartiness,! and the evening service was fully choral, the choir having undergone a careful preparation for the same. The rev. gentleman wno officiated referred to ,the harvest bounty, and trusted the thanksgiving was* not only lip but heart service for the mercies vouchsafed in a genial and abundant harvest.
