AUSTRALIAN EXPLORATION.
[from our correspondent.]
[Br Telegraph from the Bluff.]
MELBOURNE, January 17,
Arrangements have been made in Adelaide for the despatch of an exploring and prospecting expedition into the interior. The funds are chiefly provided by the Central Australian Exploring Association, which is an off shoot of the South Australian branch of the Geographical Society. The leadership of the party will be undertaken by Mr W. H. Tietkens, an experienced Australian explorer, and the party will comprise three men and a black boy, with twelve camels and two horses. The explorers will take provisions for six months, and will start from Alice Springs, thence proceeding to Lake Amadeus with a yiew of exploring the country in that neighborhood. The heavy rain which has recently fallen throughout the interior will greatly facilitate the undertaking.
