ODDFELLOWSHIP.
The summoned meeting of the Loyal Perseverance Lodge of Oddfellows was held in the Oddfellows' Hall, Woolston, on Wednesday evening. The attendance of members was large, and the interest taken by individual members in the business of the Lodge is encouraging for the success of Oddfellowship in tbis district. The formal business of the Lodge having been dispensed with, a notice of motion by Bro. F. Sheppard, " That the Lodge rescind resolution passed at a previous meeting, namely, that members be not fined for non-attendance at summoned meetings of the Lodge," wascarried.so thatmembersnot sending apologies in future will be fined in accordance with the rules as formerly. The next special business was the election of a Trustee in place of Bro. W. Thorpe, resigned. P.O. Bro. A. Orr was unanimously elected to fill the vacancy. The following brothers were elected delegates to attend the next district meeting, viz., P.P.G.M. Bro. Sandford, P.G. Bro. Alyward, and P.P.G.M. Bro. Woodford. The various Past Officers gave notice to take Past Officers , degrees at district meeting. A suggestion that with the view of suitably entertaining the district delegates, a ball be held in the evening, at which a nominal charge will be made, tc be confined to members of Order. A Committee was appointed with power to act. The Treasurer, P.G. Bro. Hayward, laid the bank book on the table, which showed a cash balance of £164155. Bro. Hinly gave notice of motion for next Lodge re alteration of election of Hall Committee. One new member was duly proposed and initiated. D.P.G.M. Bro. Winnie and P.G. Bro. Dennie were present and thanked the Lodge for the reception awarded them and the pleasure it afforded them at the interest taken in Lodge business. A successful meeting was closed in the usual manner by the N.G.
