It is stated here that General Sir Henry Wylie Norman, at present Governor of Jamaica, will succeed Sir Wm. Robinson as Governor of South Australia. Received August 30th, 9 p.m. MUTUAL LIFE ASSOCIATION. Sydney, August 30. The annual meeting of the Mutual Life Association of Australasia was held to-day. The report of the Directors, which, was considered to be very satisfactory, showed that the business transacted during the year was much above the average, and also that there was a considerable increase in the income. The retiring Directors were re-elected. Received August 30th, 10.20 p.m. BOXING CONTEST. I Sydney, August 30. News has beeu received here that in a glove contest between Jackson, champion of Australia, aud Godfrey, the colored champion of fought in San Francisco, the former was victorious, having knocked his opponent out in eighteen rounds. LEPROSY. A European named Gielham has been admitted to the Lepers' Hospital in an advanced stage of leprosy. Received August 31at, 1.10 a.m. NEW COALFIELD. Sydney, August 30. A new coalfield has been discovered at Picton, and it ia said to be a true Bulli seam. Picton lies in a valley 550 ft above sea level, on the Stone Quarry Creek, about fifty-three miles S.W. of Sydney on the Main Southern road. There is a goodsteed township, and railway communication with Sydney. Kerosene shale has already been found in the district. The famous Bulli mines are situate about twenty miles distant on the sea coast. The yearly oucput of the Bulli Mining Company is about 140,000 tons;
