FURTHER EFFORTS FOR A SETTLEMENT. [PER PRESS ASSOCIATION , .] Received August 30th. 2.30 pan. Newcastle, August 30. The miners now out on strike have issued a manifesto to their fellow workmen and the general public of Australasia, appealing for aid in their endeavor to obtain their demands from their masters. Received August 30th, 10.20 pan. Sydney, August 30. The Hon. J. N. Brunker, Minister of Lands, is mediating in the colliery dispute, and it is stated there ia a possibility of a settlement of the difficulty; Received August 31st, IJO a.m. Sydney, August 30. The Maritime Labor Council has objected to the minep abandoning negotiations with the masters, but they have promised them, their support in the strike.
