THE NEW ZEALAND SHIPPING. COMPANY.
[By Telegbaph.]
tFROM ODB COnBESJPOXDEKT.I WELLINGTON, November 9,
Mr J. B. Blair, the Wellington Director of the New Zealand Shipping Company, who lately spent a week at Christchureh thoroughly inspecting the books and position of the Company, informs the shareholders here that the result of bis inspection has been to convince him that the Company's business is an excellent and moat profitable one, and that with good management the Company would be in a splendid position. To use his own words, there is no sounder concern in the whole colony; but he considers the past management has been unsatisfactory, especially in London, and several reforms are needed. He is satisfied that the defective management of which he complains has been, not in New Zealand, but almost wholly at the London end, where he urges that extensive and immediate changes are imperative. I understand Mr Blair has made some important proposals on this head which probably will shortly transpire. ;
