THE HOSPITAL ENQUIRY.

TO TUS BDITOB OT TBM FBXB3. . Sib,—Can you. Sir, or can any of your readers give mc any information with respect to the recent actions of the Hospital Board, or can yon tell mc where I can obtain snch information as I require? I wish to know, Sir— let. How many members of the Hospital Board were present at its last meeting when the evideioe given at the recent enquiry was considered and the verdict decided upon ? 2nd. Was any opposition to the verdict shown by any member of the Board, and if bo by whom f 3rd. Did,the representative members of the Board—-the Mayors of Cbrtetchnrch, of Sydenham, of Lyttelton—members elected by the people, agree to this verdict; or, 4th. Bias any record of the proceedings been kept, and if so, by whom f 6th. Where can such records be seen? 6th. Has the evidence taken at the enquiry, together with the decision of the Botrd, been forwarded to the Government, and if at>, is it stated whether the Board was

unanimous in its verdict ? I am led to make these enquiries because it has been placed on record that the Board wae not unaaimou3 in its verdict— this has not yet been contradicted. The Christchurch Hospital is supported almoet entirely by funds obtained from the Government chest; the Government are bound to see that the institution is properly managed, and I am satisfied that nothing short of an exhaustive enquiry— under commission from Government—will satisfy the people of Christchurch. Tours, Ac, A Batepatkr.
