The annual meeting for the purpose of electing new members to serve on the above Board, was held at the Road Board office on Saturday last at noon. There was a very poor attendance of ratepayers, there being only about twenty present. Mr R. L. Higgins, the Chairman of the Board, presided, and informed those present the business for which they had been called together, viz, the election of four members in tbe place of Messrs Higgins, Howson, Dickinson, and Poyntz. The two former had resigned their seats, and the latter retired by ballot. Before proceeding with the election, he (the Chairman) would read the annual balance sheet of the Board, showing the receipts and expenditure for the last twelve months.

The followingiß an abstract, viz '.— .Receipts—balance, £61 14s sdf General Government grant, £150; Provincial Government grant, £1178 lis 6d ; rates, £200 ; total, £1590 5s 4d. Expenditure — main road, £332 8s 6d; bye roads, £689 14s 7d ; balance, £548 2s 10s ; total, £1590 5s lid. The election of members was then proceeded with, and the following were duly proposed and seconded— Mr James Tipping proposed, Mr Morrison seconded, Mr R. L. Higgins. ''.''.,

Mr Conway proposed, Mr Roberts seconded, Mr J. D. Dickinson.

Mr Atkinson proposed,Mr Tipping seconded, Mr S. Poyntz. Mr Roberts proposed, Mr James Tipping seconded, Mr W. H. Zouch. Mr Marshall proposed, Mr Hayman seconded, Mr 0. Hosegood, Mr Roberts proposed, Mr Tallott seconded, Mr Ruddenklau.

On a show of hands being taken, it was decided in favor of Messrs Higgins, Dickinson, Poyntz, and Ruddenklau. Mr Hosegood demanded a poll, which resulted as follows :— ...
