Sullivan, was charged wilii iho (s:7om.v. he having b.vu [uiinii drunk in a gutter, in London street, on Saturday night. It being his first offence, he was tinoil i>s. Vagrancy.—R'c'iard Norris was charged with being a vagrant. Constable Davidson stated thnt several of the publicans complained to him of the accused following persons into the hotels, and loafing on them, causing them to leave ; aud that he did not contribute auythiug for the maintenance of his wife and childreu. The accused stated that he could get no work ; and his Worship stated that he would give him another chance, but if he appeared before him again he would give him the full penalty of the law. Druxk and Refusal of Duty.—John Murphy, a seaman on board the brig Windhover, was charged with the above offence. Constable Davidson proved having arrested him on Sunday night, when he used insulting and abusive language, aud [threatened to strike the captain. Captain ltoers corroborated the constable's evidence, and said it was the accused's second oifence. On the Bench enquiring of him as to where he got the liquor on Sunday, he refused to answer. He Was sentenced to fourteen days' imprisonment with hard labor. The police were instructed to find out where the accused had obtaiued the drink, and to lay an information against the party who supplied him with it.
