A private meeting was hold at Mr. Alport's store on Wednesday afternoon, for the purpose of appointing a deputation to wait on his Honor the Superintendent, respecting the improvements of the town, and to arrange the preliminary steps for calling a public meeting at tho Town Hall on Saturday evening, to discuss the subject of an application to the Provincial Government for placing the town, under tho provisions of tho Municipal Ordinance
