only, the word "cattle " denoting " oxen " both male and female. I should recommend that the restrictions proposed to be placed upon the importation of infected cattle, should apply to the whole of New Zealand, or at least to the Middle Island, and I would further suggest that regulations should be framed with regard to the importation of cattle generally, as precautionary measures to meet cases where cattle do not actually appear to be infected at the timo of landing but subsequently show symptoms of disease.
