Council Supports Commercial Building
A request for a permit for a commercial building exceeding the £3OOO limit which the Whakatane Borough Council may grant was recommended by it on Monday night for approval by the Building Controller. The council decided that it would, within reason, support similar applications. Such building was for the good of the town, which had seen little commercial construction recently, said the Mayor, Mr B. S. Barry, supported by Cr H. G. Warren.
