GLASS ON BEACHES
Sir,—l was pleased to note in yoor issue last iFriday, reference made to the work of a number of young 'louts' l at and I agree in every way that something should be done} to put a stop to the practice of leaving broken glass and bottles on our beaches. I ha,ve first hand knowledge of a very serious accident to a small child who accidentally trod on a piece of half exposed glass while paddling in the waves. People who deliberately set out to leave surf* traps for children are as you say beyond excuse, and I sincerely trust that every person seeing or knowing of such instances will take immediate steps to notify the police. Yours e tc,, PARENT. - 4J
