LABOUR RETAINS SEAT
VICTORY *N YORKSHIRE BY-ELECTION London, March 17. The Government has won another by-election in a division of Yorkshire. The Labour candidate got a majority of just over 2,000 against the Conservative candidate, Colonel Brown. Both'parties increased their noils, the Labour Party by nearly 1000, Conservatives bv nearly 6,000. In the general election there was a third candidate —a Liberal—who go+ over 6.000 votes The Government has kept up its record of not losing a single seat that it won in the General Election. This is the 33rd seat it has retained.
