Supply Of Arms From U.S.A.
Obligations Under The Pact London, March 17. In Washington today a State Department spokesman said that the U.S. would try, between the beginning of July and the end of June next year, to supply the arms deficiencies to countries under the Atlantic Pact.. The statement was not to be taken as excluding countries in other parts of the world that might be considered under the United States Arms Programme, and it was made on the assumption that Congress would pass that programme. The spokesman emphasised that military aid would not interfere with the European Recovery Programme, which would have first preference on U.S. money and materials sent to Europe.
