SHELTER FOR PRAMS
REQUEST TO EOEOUGIS COUNCIL
NO TENDERS RECEIVED FOR WORK
An inquiry as to the possibility of some shelter for perambulators being provided at the women's i rest room before the onset of winter, was received at the monthly meeting of the Tauranga Borough Council from the Tauranga branch of the National Council of Women of New Zealand.
After stating that the work was considered to be most necessary, the National Council of V/omen said it would be very glad to hear that some shelter, even' if only temporary pending the return to normal building activities, could be provided. Cr A. T. Stenhouse explained that the architect had called tenders for tiie work. She felt that other avenues should be explored in an attempt to remedy the situation.
The Mayor (Mr L. R. Wilkinson) pointed out that no tenders had been received. His suggestion that the question should be left to Cr Stenhouse to investigate, and that she should report back to the next meeting of the council, was supported by the council.
