MANY DEATHS IN PALESTINE
FIGHTING BETWEEN .ARABS AND JEWS MEETING TO DTSCUSS TRUCE RECOMMENDATIONS London, April 5. There have been more reports from Palestine of clashes between Jews * and Arabs around settlements in scattered parts of the country. A heavy death roll is reported. Jewish spokesmen claimed that in one clash more than 40 Arabs, were killed. Arab sources say that in the same battle Jewish losses were more severe.
The Jewish Agency Executive met in Tel Aviv today to discuss the Security Council's truce recommendations. In New York the Russian delegate to the council, M. Gromyko, told correspondents that he does not think he will attend the informal meeting later today which is being called by the United States delegate, Senator Warren Austin, to hear the American trusteeship plans for Palestine.
