PAENGAROA NOTES

Mr and Mi’s Innes Vercoe have returned to Paengaroa from Auckland.
Mr and Mrs J. M. Hodges who have been spending a holiday in the Wellington district have returned to Paengaroa.
On Saturday a gift aftei’noon was held in the Paengaroa Hall for Miss Gladys Williams, youngest daughter of Mr Wallace Williams of Te Tumix, who is shortly to marry Mr J. Gordon of Te Puke.
Miss Margaret Wilkins, daughter of Mr and Mi’s Hugh Wilkins of Pongakawa, has x’eturned home, after three years of nursing in Fiji. Miss Wilkins does not intend to remain in New Zealand and she has obtained a* post in the Aorangi which may sail towards the end of March.
Mr and Mrs Beasley, who for many years have farmed in the Paengaroa district have decided to retire to Tauranga. At a farewell evening held in the Paengaroa Hall, Mr and Mrs Beasley were the recipients of a presentation.
