WOMEN’S DIVISION
MONTHLY MEETING AT TAURANGA
Mrs McGill presided at the last monthly meeting of the Tauranga branch of the Women’s Division of Federated Farmers. The roll call, “How I would like to spend Christmas,” brought forth many varied suggestions. It was reported that after 16 months a suitable property had been acquired at Onehunga, Auckland, for the establishment of the Division’s fourth rest home. The property consists of a well-equipped house, an acre of land, and has a beach and shopping facilities handy. The question of assisting with the finance of the project was discussed.
Mrs McGill thanked all members for their co-operation during the year, especially in the sending of parcels to Great Britain. Christmas gifts were given to each member. Competitions for the day resulted as follows: Large bloom, Mrs McCullough 1, Mrs Poole 2; small bloom, Mrs Pool 1, Mrs McCullough 2; wandering shilling, Mrs McCullough.
