TRUMAN’S CALL TO AMERICANS
PRESIDENT'S FEARS Washington, April. 30. • Expressing a fear that the United States had lost sight of its responsibilities as a leader among the nations. President Truman, addressing 300 Washington clergymen, called on them and the churchmen of the nation to urge Americans to share their fqpcl with the starving peoples abroad and to forsake selfishness lest there be “absolute destruction of things as we know them now.” Mr Truman added: “I need your prayers. No one ever needed them more.”
