ELECTIONS IN GERMANY Munich, April. 30. The complete results of the county elections in the American zone in Germany shew sweeping victories for the moderates. In Bavaria the Christian Democrats gained 70 per cent of the votes, winning 3393 seats: Social Democrats, 23 per cent, and 1039 seats; and Communists, 4 per cent and 11G seats. In Greater Hesse, the Social Democrats won 539 seats; Christian Democrats, 446; Communists, 11 seats; Liberal Democrats, 43 seats. The remaining 39 seats were divided between the various parties. A Communist won the Berchtesgaden seat. The Christian Democrats gained an absolute majority in Northern Baden with 54 per cent of the total votes. The Social Democrats gained 27 per cent. Communist six, and Liberal Democrats five.
