ENEMY BATTERIES SILENCED
TROOP CONCENTRATIONS BROKEN UP
London. April 20
The fortress of Corregidor in the Philippines, states a War Department message from Washington, continues to hit back at the Japanese in spite of intense bombardment. Three more enemy batteries on the mainland have been silenced and three truck and troop concentrations broken up. New positions at Cavite and other points on the shores of Manila Bay have been occupied by the Japanese from which to bombard Corregidor.
