SPORTS COMPETITION TE PUKE v. TAURANGA (From School Correspondent) On Tuesday, the pupils of the Te Puke High School visited Tauranga for the purpose of competing against the local teams. Immediately after their arrival the teams proceeded to the swimming baths where sports were held until noon. Later, at the Domain, a tasty luncheon, prepared by a number of Tauranga pupils, was served. . In the afternoon the boys cnckei and girls’ rounder teams played their matches. During afternoon tea the Te Puke captains thanked the Tauranga teachers and pupils for the very enjoyable day they had spent. The Tauranga captains suitably replied and expressed thenhopes of again meeting Te Puke. The visiting pupils left by the 5 o’clock train. ROUNDERS The results were Te Puke US points and Tauranga 202 points, Tauranga winning by S 4 points.
