ALBERTA’S SOCIAL CREDIT

. Sir,—ln your issue of the 31st ulto., you report Mr Ewen, of Wellington, as saying that nearly everybody in Alberta is laughing at Mr Aberhart and his Social Credit scheme. Now, Sir, at last election Mr Aberhart’s party captured 50 odd seats out of 60 odd, I understand 58 out of 63. No wonder there is a laugh. “Nuff Sed.” The Hon. J. M. Dunningham, Minister of Labour and Industry in New South Wales, says in the same issue, that he did not get favourable impression of Alberta Social Credit on his journey across that continent. Possibly he had his eyes concentrated on that job in Australia, and missed a lot of the journey. I have before me the copy of a letter, from another Mr Dunningham (rather .a coincidence), and I believe- many of your readers will appreciate you publishing it. It necessary I will produce it for your inspection. It reads as follows: “I am how officially and publicly Hon. Secretary and Manager of the Most Rev. Dr. Hewlitt Johnson, D.D.S.C. M.1.C.E., Dean of Canterbury Had a bumper meeting last night at Ottawa. 'All the elite of Ottawa were there. Meeting held in Chateau, where the representatives at the Ottawa Conference stayed. We stayed there also. Professor McLennan is teaching Douglas Social Credit to all pupils in the college., The Dean was received and entertained by Canadian (millionaire) Newspaper Proprietors, Messrs WV M. and H. Southam, who own the “Citizen," Ottawa. They uphold D.S.C. The editor, Mr Harold, is an ardent Douglasite, and writes most masterly editorials on D S.C. One special publication contained reports of Major Douglas’s speech, of which no less than one million copies Were circulated.... We speak here (Toronto) to-morrow night and then train to Detroit, to meet Rev. Father Coughlin, We hope to see President Roosevelt on 13th October before leaving for England. ‘Will be with Mr Aberhart in a few days.’ The publicity has never been equalled in history.” C. S. MOFFATT, President, D.S.C.
