Mr Kdward Corrigill Ranks waited on the County Council yesterday in regard to beautifying a section of Mount Maunganui Road. There was
a. considerable* growth of titree on the roadside for about half-a-mile. He wished to clear the titree and plant the area, and would be prepared to do sojf the Council provided the cost of posts, wire and material to the amount of £l7 19s. He would like a reply as soon as possible.
Cr Morton stated that the planting of th<* roadside would greatly int-i-rove the appearance of the Mount ■list riel.
The Chairman. Cr .Mat Dougall. said the matter was one for the Te !’iike Hiding,
Cr Gatte said the offer of Mr Banks was a good one. Cr Mends said Mr Banks was doing excellent, work in improving his
property. Cr Lully moved - -That the matter he deferred.- Seconded by Cr Morton and carried.
