GOLF.
LADY MEMBERS OP TAURANGA CLUB. The annual general meeting of the lady members of the Tauranga G-.m Club was held in the Borough Council Chambers on Thursday night. In the absence of Mrs Hanna {President) Mrs Sanders (Captain) presided and there was a fair attendance. President’s Report. “The 1931 season was perhaps the most successful yet experienced by the Club. The committee, as usual, worked in perfect harmony, and on all occasions were willing and ready to assist. Owing to the efforts of the ladies the Saturday tea arrangements under the capable management of Mrs Sewell were a great success. The competitions in all cases wore keenly contested and play was; of a higher standard than formerly, as shown by the number of players who managed to reduce their handicaps. Matches were played against Te Puke and Waihi. Thanks are due to the Secretary of Men's Committee for their help during the season ami to the Bay of Plenty Times for the publication of competitions and results; also to the donors of trophies for the competitions.” Election of Officers. The election of officers for the ensuing year resulted as follows: President—Mrs Hanna. Vice-Presidents—-Mrs C. 11. Jordan. Mrs Sanders, Mrs Beckett and Mrs Watkinson. Captain—Miss Humphreys. Vice-Captain—Mrs Bulard. Hon. Secretary—Miss F. Goodyear Treasurer—Miss E. Goodyear. Committee — Mesdames Heald, Smith, Maltby, Mayfield, Misses Wallis, Turner and Hartley. General. Various matters dealing with the Club were discussed. The meeting closed with a vote of thanks to Mrs Sanders for presiding.
