COOLIE AMOK.

EXCITEMENT IN KANCHBNJUNGA EXPEDITION. London, April 20 There was a dramatic incident at the little hamlet of Tingling while the Kanchenjunga expedition was en route to Nepal. A coolie ran amok, stabbed another coolie with a hillman’s curved knife, and attempted to brain Mr P. S. Smythe, British member of the expedition, with a stone. The others overpowered and bound him. The expedition camped for the first time at Tingling, but is now en route to Kang Pass, by which it will enter Nepal. A heavy snowstorm has dispirited the natives, many of whom refused to coutinue the journey, but the majority were persuaded to go on.
