Auckland, April 19 While the whole population looked on and jeered the Howick Town Board fought a wordy battle, .- bn Thursday evening over the appoint* ment of the Town Clerk (Mr V, L. Bagnall) as clerk of works. When a motion, giving the clerk of works a month's notice of dismissal was carried by a majority of four to three, the engineer (Greville Walker) resigned.
