A joint communicatf'ii .n ixgard t > the Judea saleyards, forwarefed by tb<; New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Go., Ltd., and the Fanners Cooperative Auctioneering Co., Ltd., was read at yesterday’s meeting of the Tauranga County Council. The letter stated; “In consideration of your Council granting the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency On., Ltd., a permit to hold a sale in the Judea saie3’ards, we, the,, undersigned, jointowners of the above yards, do hereby agree not to apply for any further permits to hold sales in the Judea, saleyards until such time as the new yards are erected.” Mr C. H. Jordan, agent for the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., Tauranga, Th a covering letter, stated the company would be glad if the Council will advise at the earliest possible moment if a. permit to hold a sale is granted. The Chairman (Mr Rung) indicated that a permit had been granted to hold one sale. The Council approved of the action of the Chairman.
