A communication was read at yesterday’s meeting of i!u- Taurangi County Council from Sir Francis 8011, for the Prime Mbusier, advidng that His Excellency, the Guvcm-ir-General. lias receiv'd a cablegram from the Secretary .«i Stale tor the Cdomo. intimating that His .Maje-U has approved oj arrangements for the observance of Armistice Hay. November ]]_ as follows; (1) A shut service will he held at the Cenotaph mi tin- lines adopted in previous years. His Majesty die King will he present and will lay a wreath. (2) Two minutes’ silence will he observed at 11 a.m.. Local authorities will be asked to arrange Tor suspension of all vehicular traffic for two minutes from 11 a.m., lint rail smd water transport will not he suspended. - The chairman was asked to make suitable arrangements for tlie Tauranga County. —On the motion of Cr Darragh, seconded by Cr Hume, it was decided to comply with die request.
