OPERATIONS DIVERT TURKISH ATTACKS.
From Russian and Egyptian Fronts.
London, Sept 30. Mr Outhwaite, Liberal member for Henley, atked in the House of Commons wliethor Air Buchanan's statement at Petrograd was true that the attack on the JJardarjellis was partly due to Russia's request to divert the Turks from the Caucasus.
Lord Robert Cecil, Parliamentary Under-Secretary to Jho Foreign Office, replied that the operation doubtless drexv tho Turks from tho Russian and Egyptian frouts. A fuiler statement was inexpedient.
