POSITION OF UTMOST GRAVITY.
Enemy Officers to Direct
Bulgarian Army.

London, Oct 1. Sir E. Grey, Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, made a statement to the effect that he regards with the utmost gravity the news that German and Austrian officers have been arriving in Bulgaria to direct the latter's army.

London, Oct 1. Sir E. Grey, following his statement, said information haa been received that Austro-German officers for several days have been arriving in Bulgaria with a view to taking an actvie pait in directing the army. This action was similar to that taken in Turkey in 1914, when German officers lorced Turkey to unprovokingly attack Russia. Since th* Allied Powers were bound to support the States threatened by such proceedings in Bulgaria the news was regarded as of the utmost gravity.
