General Review of Operations
The High Commissioner, under date London, Sept 30, l<loa.m, reports : — 1 Fighting continues on the heights between Souchez and Vimy. AYe maintained all new positious captured in the Champagne area. There are violent combats before positious where the enemy has fallen back, also for the reduction of tt sail - ent north of Mesnil, where aome enemy units hold ground. We progressed on the slopes of Buttedetahurc and north of Mawices.
