SENSATION IN CHRISTCHURCH.
Health Officer Threatened. Christcburck Sept. 17.
Andrew Topping, formerly a dairyman at Ash burton, entered the District Health Office in Christchurch yesterday, and threatened to shoot Dr Ohesson, the heath officer. Meeting Inspector McKenzie, Popping told him he would shoot Dr. Chesson, and himself afterwards.
Topping kept hanging about the office and Inspector McKenzie found it necessary to hand him over to the police. Topping was brought before Mr H W Bishnp, S.M., and charged With threatening to shoot Dr Chesson. The defendant was bound over to keep the peace for twelve months, and ordered to n" id securities of £100.
