GRAIN AND SEED REPORT.

Messrs Samuel Orr and Co., Stafford street, report for the week ended February 15 as follows: — Wheat. — As reported last week, the market for this cereal is almost at a standstill buyers being indisposed to purchase until the new crop comes on the market, when more business is likely to take place. Prices remain unaltered, viz. : —Prime milling velvet or Tuscan, 3s 91 to 3s lOd ; ordinary 3s 6d to 3s 8i ; medium, 3a 3d to 3s 5d ; inferior and fowls' feed, 2s 6d to 3a. Oates. :— The demand foa these just cow is rather limited, inquiries for shipment beiug few. Harvesting is now pretty geaeral both north and south, and the new crop should be on the market almost immediatly. We quote : Prime milling, Is B^d good heavy bright feed, Is 7£d to Is 8 1 : ordinary, Is 6Jd to Is 7£d ; inferior, Is 5d to Is 61. Barley. — Nothiug doing, pending samples of the new crop cotniDg to band. Grass Seed. — No improvement in the demand to report. Potatoes :— Consignments are coming forward more freely this week, with fair demand at from £2 153 to £3. Chaff. — A fair demand exists, with little coming forward. Prices : tfor good, well cut oaten sheaf, £2 10a to £2 153 ; medium, £2 to £2 sa.
