The Fairfax School.
— ■» — . The annual meeting in connection Avith the Fairfax School Avas held in the local schoolhouse, on Friday. The folloAving report was submitted by the Committee : — Fairfax, Juno Bth, 1876. Mr Chairman and Gentlemen, — In laying before you our first annual report of the Fairfax School, we have to congratulate you upon the great success Avhich has attended our efforts in establishing a school iv the district — it being only twelve months since the undertaking was begun. We have a first-class school — with an attendance of 65 pupils, under the able management of Mr Little.

We beg to thank Mr Wm. Black for giving his services as Inspector of building, and also the public for their liberal contributions. John C. Gordon, Chairman. On the motion of Mr Duthie the report Avas adopted, and a A r ote of thanks Avas passed to the retiring Committee. The following are the names of the neAV Committee : — Messrs Andrew Parlane, John Norrie, Richard Carruthers, "Wm. Dunne, Duncan M'Ewau, Joseph Parker, and John C. Gordon.
