The Chairman ruled that the motion of which Pastor Ries had given notice to amend the regulation governing school hours was out of order, on the grounds (1) that a month's notice had not been given, and (2) that no regulation could be altered until six months had elapsed after its coming into force.— Pastor Ries gave notice of the same motion for next meeting. Mr Morgan gave notice that at nest meeting he would move as follows : "That a committee consisting of the mover and the inspectors be appointed to draw up a report on the advisableness of making arrangements by which teachers who have not obtained certificates and are in charge of schools, could be sent either to a training school or to some of the larger schools for a period of, say, three months, to get instruction in school management.' 3 On the motion of the Rev. Mr Morgan pointed out thet by an alteration in the technical class (regulations issued by the department, which came into force on the 2nd instant, the capitation for cookery classes had been reduced from los to 12s 6d. That would mean a considerable loss to the board, as they had previously made their arrangements for the y»ar on a los basis. — Representations to be made to the department accordingly, Accounts amounting to £3781 14s lOd were passed for payment.
